Fiona Krishnan is a passionate and hands-on owner who has been at the helm of Cloverdale Early Education and Care since 2010. Her commitment to providing exceptional care and education shines through in every aspect of the centre’s operation.
Fiona’s approach to early childhood education and care is deeply inspired by the renowned Reggio Emilia philosophy. Furthermore, her practices incorporate the insights of various Child Developmental Theorists, such as Piaget, Skinner, Vygotsky, and Erikson. This rich theoretical foundation underpins the centre’s educational approach, ensuring a well-rounded and comprehensive learning experience for the children.
Fiona’s vision is to create a warm, stimulating environment where every child and their family feel a strong sense of belonging. She strives to establish a space where children can explore, learn, research, and create with confidence. Ensuring that each child has an equal opportunity to learn is at the core of her mission.
Fiona’s journey in the childcare industry began in 1993 as an Assistant Educator. Over the years, she has diligently worked her way up, attaining both a Certificate III and a Diploma of Children Services. Her extensive experience spans various roles within different services, including Qualified Educator, Room Leader, Centre Director, and positions in mentoring and consulting.
Fiona has a fervent commitment to sustainability and has engaged children in numerous sustainable projects over the years. At Cloverdale Early Education and Care, she has actively collaborated with Elders and local community members to ensure that the language and culture of First Nation Peoples are thoughtfully integrated into the curriculum.
Fiona is dedicated to the ongoing enhancement of the quality of education and care provided at Cloverdale Early Education and Care. She actively encourages input and involvement from all stakeholders, fostering a sense of community and shared responsibility.
Furthermore, Fiona recognises the importance of staying current with the latest research and knowledge concerning child development. As such, she consistently offers various training and learning opportunities for all educators at Cloverdale Early Education and Care throughout the year.
In addition to her professional endeavours, Fiona is a devoted wife and the mother of three beautiful children. Through her personal experiences, she intimately understands the delicate balance and challenges faced by working parents. This insight informs her approach to childcare and strengthens her commitment to creating a supportive and nurturing environment for both children and families.
Families can trust that under Fiona’s dedicated leadership, Cloverdale Early Education and Care provides not only a stimulating and nurturing learning environment but also a warm and welcoming community for their children to thrive.
