Tashi is a qualified educator at Cloverdale Early Education and Care, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to her role. Originally from Bhutan, Tashi holds a certificate in Primary Teaching and has over 12 years of experience teaching children between the ages of 6 and 13 years. Her dedication to education and passion for working with children has been evident throughout her career.
In 2015, Tashi and her family moved to Australia, intending to continue her teaching journey. However, she discovered that her international teaching qualifications were not recognised in the country. Undeterred, Tashi decided to update her qualifications and completed a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, drawn to her favourite age group of Kindergarten-aged children. Her commitment to professional growth and her transition to early childhood education showcase her adaptability and determination to make a positive impact on young lives.
Tashi’s linguistic abilities are truly impressive, as she is fluent in four languages: Nepalese, Bhutanese, Hindi, and English. This multilingualism allows her to connect with children and families from diverse cultural backgrounds, fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment. Additionally, as a mother to two daughters, Tashi brings a deep understanding of the needs of children and families to her role as an educator.
Her love for the outdoors and her green thumb are evident in Tashi’s passion for gardening. She actively engages with Michelle, the children, and the community in tending our community garden. Tashi’s expertise and guidance provide the children with valuable lessons on sustainability and the wonders of nature. She takes great pride in our vegetable garden and the produce it provides for our kitchen. Tashi’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond the garden, as she serves as our sustainability officer. Collaborating with organisations like Terracycle, Tashi ensures that our staff, families, and children have the resources and knowledge to recycle various products, reducing our environmental impact and instilling eco-conscious habits.
Tashi finds immense joy and fulfilment in her role as an educator. She cherishes the opportunity to witness children’s growth and development, helping them build essential skills and confidence as they prepare for full-time schooling. Tashi’s dedication to nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning creates a supportive and stimulating environment for our Kindergarten-aged children.
We are fortunate to have Tashi as a valued member of our team, as her expertise, cultural diversity, and dedication to sustainability greatly enrich the experiences of the children and families at Cloverdale Early Education and Care. Families can trust that Tashi’s passion and care will help prepare their children for a successful transition to primary school while instilling a love for learning and a sense of environmental responsibility.
Tashi is currently on extended leave and will be returning toward the end of 2024.
